The life of Margaret [surname unknown] Mawle
Biography
Margaret survived her husband John Mawle, the clothier of Stoke-by-Nayland, in Suffolk in eastern England. On December 3, 1586 she made her own will at Nayland next Stoke. It was proved on February 11, 1586/87, placing her death between those two dates.
Among those she remembered were three members of the Walter family: Margaret, Richard, and John. Her bequests extended beyond the Mawle household into the surrounding family network.
The Threlfall-derived reconstruction identifies her as the mother of Margaret Mawle Barker. Her own maiden surname remains unproved.
The burial listing associates Margaret [surname unknown] Mawle with St. James' Churchyard, Nayland, Babergh District, Suffolk, England.
