A LITTLE GUIDANCE

Make yourself
at home.

There is no right starting point. Follow a name, a place, or a connection that interests you.

Find someone

Use People to search a name or a piece of family history. Choose People for names and nicknames, or Stories & records for a wider search.

Get to know a life

A profile brings together the biography, places, images, family, timeline, and sources. Use the section links to jump to what interests you. Select an image to open the gallery.

Follow the places

Open the Map to see family locations and journeys. Search for a person or place, or choose family branches. You can close the search panel whenever you need more room to move around.

Follow the family

The Wheel shows relationships across generations. Wheel Explorer helps you focus on one person and their connections. Each family branch has the same color on the wheel and map. Split colors show shared branches. A double outline marks the selected person; pink borders and paths mark their highlighted connections. Older generations sit farther out; younger generations are nearer the center. Profiles also offer ancestor and descendant lists, starting with parents or children.

Share what you know

Select “Submit an update” on a profile to suggest a correction, share a memory, or contribute a photograph. Suggestions go through review before family records change.
