Joan Hurst Rogers Tilley

Joan Hurst Rogers Tilley was baptized at Henlow, Bedfordshire, on 13 March 1567/8, the daughter of William Hurst and probably Rose. She married Thomas Rogers there on 18 June 1593, and their daughter Joan was baptized the following year.[3,4]

Widowed, she married John Tilley at Henlow on 20 September 1596. Their children were Rose, who died young, John, a second Rose, Robert and Elizabeth.[3]

In 1620 Joan, John and Elizabeth sailed on the Mayflower. Joan and her husband died during Plymouth’s first winter, leaving thirteen-year-old Elizabeth, who later married John Howland.[3,4]
