Wesley Doane Wicks

Biography

Wesley Doane Wicks was born in Providence, in the New England state of Rhode Island, on February 17, 1936, the son of John Doane Wicks and Mary Elizabeth Carpenter. He was a younger brother of Marjorie Wicks Walker. His children included Stephen Chamberlain Wicks.

A later family obituary provides another view of his household. His son Andrew's obituary calls him “Pete” and names Andrew's brothers as Steve and James. It recalls Andrew's childhood in Oak Ridge, in eastern Tennessee, and Aurora, next to Denver in Colorado, followed by a return to Knoxville, also in eastern Tennessee, during high school.
