The life of Jonathan Mason
Biography
Jonathan Mason was born on April 20, 1734, to Pelatiah and Hannah Mason. He married Patience Mason in 1755. His will, dated May 20, 1797, identifies grandson Mason Pickering as the son of his deceased daughter Patience Pickering.
The published Mason genealogy records his death on August 18, 1798, consistent with the subsequent probate.
The published family account says that he moved from Swansea, Massachusetts, to Cumberland, Rhode Island, about 1759 and died in Cumberland.
