The life of Kathleen Wilhelmina Dill Macky
Biography
Kathleen Wilhelmina Dill Macky married Alexander Stewart Jolly at Scots Church, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on June 27, 1912. Her father, the Rev. William Marcus Dill Macky, conducted the ceremony with her uncle, the Rev. Richard Dill Macky. The wedding report identifies her as the third daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Dill Macky. She wore white crepe de chine with Honiton lace; after a reception in Market Street, the couple travelled by train to the Jenolan Caves.
Kathleen later held land in her own name at Pittwater, on Sydney’s northern coastal edge. Heritage NSW records her registration as proprietor on March 4, 1931 and a transfer to the Australian Land Development & Investment Company on April 15 that year. The land was still undeveloped. A later owner commissioned the house now called Hy Brasil from Alexander.
A separate government notice in February 1934 named Kathleen as the applicant to bring more than six acres on Hilltop Road under the Real Property Act. These records place her directly in the district's property transactions.
Kathleen survived Alexander, who died on April 17, 1957. His surviving family included their son and three daughters.
