Biography
Thomas Paul Joyce was associated with Avoca, Tasmania, and worked as a carrier and later as a linesman. He served as Private 3504 in the 40th Battalion of the Australian Imperial Force, with his wife E. M. Joyce listed in Hobart. Newspaper court reports describe his April 1903 marriage to Edith Marion and their divorce, made absolute on 21 November 1927. His military age suggests a birth around 1879–1880. His reported death was on 1 July 1946. He has not been established as Doug Joyce’s biological father.
