Henry Mundy

Henry Mundy was an artist, composer and teacher of drawing, French and music. The scholarly Australharmony register gives his birth as 9 January 1798 in London and his arrival in Hobart aboard the Vibilia on 22 August 1831. He taught at Ellinthorp Hall and married his former student Lavinia Lord at Sorell on 28 January 1834. He later worked in Launceston and Hobart. He died on 24 March 1848 after taking laudanum at the Ship Hotel in Collins Street, Hobart. The underlying vital registers have not been inspected.
