Biography
Margaret was the wife of John Reade of Bures St. Mary, in Suffolk, England, on the River Stour at the Essex county boundary, and the mother of Elizabeth Reade. Elizabeth married William Knopp in September 1584 and established her family in the same parish.
The Reade and Knopp households remained connected: John's will of 1597 provided legacies for their daughter and her husband. Margaret's place in this family belongs to the English parish community in which these relationships were formed. Her maiden surname remains unknown.
