The life of William Knopp
Biography
William Knopp lived at Bures St. Mary, in Suffolk, England, on the River Stour at the Essex county boundary, and married Elizabeth Reade there on September 27, 1584. The parish records identify children Margaret, John, Rose, Elizabeth, and William, baptized between 1585 and 1597. Their daughter Elizabeth married Thomas Philbrick in the same parish in June 1615.
William was dead by the time his wife was buried in October 1640. The family's parish entries trace a household rooted in Bures across several decades.
