Capt. James Jones

James Jones, husband of Sarah Moore, participated in Weston’s early municipal administration and meetinghouse construction. The town history names James Jones among those acting for Weston in a1720 building contract and on the1722 committee managing completion of the building’s exterior. A family history also identifies him as an original proprietor of Narragansett TownshipNo6, later Templeton.
