James Jones

James Jones, husband of Abigail Garfield, left Weston for North Carolina with their son James around1748 and did not return. Published family accounts place the departure after difficulties in the marriage and describe an earlier cavalry commission. His move divided the family between Massachusetts and Carolina; the precise date of his death remains uncertain.
