The life of Antillie Nourie

Text size

Biography

By 1917, Antillie Nourie had a household of his own. The farm-directory transcription lists Caroline Lemiere and their son Melvin, with a rural-route address at Beaverville, in Iroquois County in northeastern Illinois, and a 153-acre entry in Beaver Township. A contributed genealogy connects him to Alfred Nourie and Delilah Bourassa.

A brief newspaper item opens a later window onto the couple's life. On August 18, 1946, the Medford Mail Tribune reported that Mr. and Mrs. Antillie Nourie, of Beaverville, were visiting the Dick LaFleur household in Phoenix, in southern Oregon near Medford. It places the couple far from Illinois while still identifying Beaverville as home.

Family accounts give his lifespan as 1895–1976. A public compilation gives Antillie’s birth as July 10, 1895 and his death in July 1976.

The 1986 Hownikan family account also names Antillie Nourie among Alfred Nourie and Delilah Bourassa’s children.

The burial listing places Antillie Nourie at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Beaverville, Iroquois County, Illinois, United States.
