The life of Jason Durant Walker

Biography

Jason Durant Walker's business career developed through companies he built with members of his family and other partners. Born on October 20, 1970 in Charlotte Amalie, on St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, according to his own confirmation, he is the son of Douglas Wicks Walker and Sandra Kay Hequet Walker.

Jason co-founded Hydra in 2003 with his father Doug, his brother Adam and Zac Brandenberg. The company worked in performance advertising. In May 2009, the Walkers and their partners formed W4. Jason served as chief executive; his brother Adam handled finance, and Abby Whitridge was chief operating officer. The business linked advertisers with publishers and measured campaigns by results rather than simply the appearance of an advertisement.

In 2013, W4 announced that it ranked ninth among fast-growing private companies in metropolitan Los Angeles and twenty-fifth nationally in advertising and marketing. These were company-reported rankings.

On July 18, 2018, Digital Media Solutions announced its acquisition of W4. Contemporary trade coverage reported that Jason would continue leading the business unit as president.

His film work ran alongside his advertising career. He confirms ownership of Division Films, and public credit listings identify him as an executive producer on The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby projects and Last Days in the Desert. The American Film Institute's listing for the latter names him among the executive producers of Rodrigo García's film. Division Films was also a production company on Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers; Jason’s connection is through his ownership of Division, rather than an individual producer credit.

With Trisha Jane Conley, Jason is the parent of Madison Cameron Walker.
