Business Role
CUShopper: ran credit-union relations and was instrumental in startup.
Family profile
At CUShopper, Douglas “Doug” Wicks Walker handled credit-union relations; contemporary reporting described his role as instrumental in the startup. In 2003, Doug, his sons Jason and Adam, and Zac Brandenberg formed Hydra. The company reported $108 million in revenue for 2008.
A dispute late that year separated the Walker partners from Hydra and led to cross-litigation, later settled. In May 2009, the family formed W4 with Abby Whitridge.
Doug died of cancer in January 2011. PBS SoCal records his memorial at Westwood Village Memorial Park. Its epitaph reads “WOW!”
