01BIOGRAPHY

Life in context.

6. Lemira Tiffany Carpenter (1802–1888)
Fresh record-level work corrected Lemira’s parentage. She was born in Barrington, Rhode Island, to Revolutionary veteran Ebenezer Tiffany and Mary Anna Bullock, not to the different Ebenezer/Cynthia Tingley couple printed on an older family chart. Lemira married Edmund Carpenter and became the mother of Francis Wood Carpenter. Her ancestry runs through Ephraim Tiffany and Esther Viall to the early Tiffany family shared with Charles Lewis Tiffany.
Evidence status. Direct relationship strongly supported; older family-chart parentage is superseded.
Verified Tiffany relationship diagram prepared from the corrected family research. It is a relationship diagram, not a portrait.
Research sources: Rhode Island vital-record compilations cited in corrected Tiffany research; Barrington/Tiffany family historical records
