The life of Marcy Pickering

Text size

Biography

Marcy, wife of Benjamin Pickering, is named as Asa’s mother in his December 19, 1765 birth entry; a duplicate entry calls her Mary. She is probably the Mercy or Marcy Cook who married Benjamin Pickring on March 29, 1750. A Mendon register records widow Marcy Pickering’s death on April 29, 1805.

Her birth necessarily preceded Asa’s birth on December 19, 1765. This broad limit is not an estimate of the most likely birth year.
