The life of Claude de Pécaudy

Text size

Biography

Claude de Pécaudy was Jean Jarret’s first wife. Five children of the marriage appear in the Salagnon baptismal register: Jehan in 1624, Clauda in 1625, Dominique in 1627, Gabrielle in 1629 and François in 1632. These entries place her family in the district around Salagnon and Vignieu, in today’s department of Isère in southeastern France, east of Lyon. Her son François later crossed the Atlantic and established Verchères on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence, downstream from Montréal in present-day Québec, Canada. Fichier Origine.
