Biography

Arthur John Robinson’s family life connects Athlone, County Roscommon, in central Ireland, with Dalby in Queensland, Australia. A modern marriage transcription records his marriage to Hannah Mitchell at St Peter’s, Athlone, on December 30, 1846. By 1869, their daughter Margaret Ann was marrying Thomas Charles Good at Dalby; the contemporary announcement names Arthur John as her father.

The Queensland death-index entry records Arthur John’s death on August 6, 1890 and names his parents as Arthur Robinson and Margaret Matthews. Hannah survived him and was recorded as his widow when she died in Brisbane, Queensland’s capital, in 1904.
