J. August Anderson

August Anderson, also recorded as John or J. August, worked as a storeman at Port Adelaide and married Maria Prideaux inDecember 1882. His 1942 death notice describes him as the widower of Maria, formerly of Lameroo and then of Le Hunte Avenue, Prospect. It names his children Elizabeth, Florence, John, William, Samuel, Dorothy, Annie and Eric. He died at a private hospital on 27 May 1942, in his 90 thyear, suggesting birth in 1852-1853. His funeral was held the next day at Cheltenham Cemetery. A tree’s 28 Maydeath date appears to have confused the funeral with the death.
