The life of Mary Squire
Biography
Mary Squire married John Hascall in 1699 and raised a large family with him. The family chronology records twelve children, from the first Sarah near the opening of the century to Abigail in 1725. Squire, born in 1706, bore Mary's surname as his given name.
Two of Mary's daughters named Sarah died in childhood, one in 1704 and the other in 1710.
Mary also appears in a transaction beyond the children's birth entries. She signed the September 1711 deed by which John sold land at Middleborough, inland from Plymouth in Massachusetts, to Thomas Drinkwater. The abstract identifies the land as property associated with John's father and Francis Walker.
