The life of Bathsheba Stone
Biography
Bathsheba Stone, also recorded as Bashuah, was born at Guilford, on Connecticut’s southern coast, on August 10, 1695, a daughter of Samuel Stone and Sarah Taintor. At eighteen she married Timothy Baldwin, and they made their home at North Guilford.
Their family included a daughter who shared her name, Bathsheba, and sons Michael, Timothy, and Abraham. The burial inscriptions record losses in both infancy and adulthood: Mary died at two days old in 1739; Timothy junior died in 1753 and Abraham in 1754.
Bathsheba became a widow in 1757. The church death abstract records that she died suddenly at New Haven on February 20, 1776. She was eighty.
