The life of Timothy Baldwin
Biography
Timothy Baldwin was born at Guilford, on Connecticut’s southern coast, on April 14, 1691. He married Bathsheba Stone on September 24, 1713, and the couple lived at North Guilford. Their daughter Bathsheba was born in 1716.
The family appears repeatedly in the town's burial inscriptions. Their infant daughter Mary died in May 1739, only two days old. Sons Timothy and Abraham died in 1753 and 1754 and were commemorated on the same stone.
Timothy senior died on August 4, 1757. His memorial identifies him as an ensign and gives his age as being in his sixty-seventh year. Bathsheba survived him for nearly nineteen years.
