The life of Sarah Hull
Biography
Sarah Hull was born at New Haven, on Connecticut’s southern coast, on March 4, 1674/75, a daughter of Jeremiah Hull and Hannah Baldwin. Her baptism was recorded at the First Congregational Society on July 8, 1688, when she was about thirteen.
She married Joseph Chidsey before the birth of their daughter Hannah in 1696. Their household grew to include Sarah, Abigail, Rachel, Dinah, and sons named Joseph and Abel. The younger Joseph, born in 1710, later established his family at North Guilford.
Sarah's life extended into 1741. The surviving records connect her childhood in the Hull household with the Chidsey family she raised in New Haven.
