The life of John Plampin
Biography
The reconstruction associated with Dorothy Plampin places her proposed father, John, at Stoke by Nayland in Suffolk, in eastern England. Gregory Cooke's account reports John's marriage to Marion Okeley on January 8, 1560/61 and his burial on November 30, 1563. It describes an earlier wife whose name is unknown. If the identification is correct, Dorothy belongs to that earlier family, not automatically to the marriage with Marion.
Cooke explicitly questions whether the cited research adequately demonstrates that this John was Dorothy's father.
