The life of Robert Noyes of Cholderton
Biography
Robert Noyes appears in the family reconstruction for Cholderton, in Wiltshire in southern England, as the father of Reverend William Noyes. Evidence summarized from Dean Crawford Smith's study gives him more substance than a name in a pedigree: a deposition in 1598 described him as about eighty, and subsidy records place him in the tax record in 1571 and again in 1599/1600. The age statement suggests a birth around 1518, while the later tax evidence establishes survival into the closing years of Elizabeth I's reign.
Smith's reconstruction leaves Robert's wife unnamed. His exact death date is unknown.
