The life of Elizabeth Lamprey Moulton
Biography
Elizabeth Lamprey was born on February 18, 1702/03 into Benjamin Lamprey and Jane Batchelder's Hampton household. She married Jonathan Moulton on December 21, 1727. Their home was at Little Boar's Head, now in North Hampton on the New Hampshire coast.
The family histories record sons Reuben, Jonathan, Daniel, and Robert, followed in the Rye account by a daughter Lucy in March 1735. The children's later homes reached beyond the neighborhood in which Elizabeth raised them: Daniel settled in Scarborough, Maine, while Robert became associated with Gilmanton.
Elizabeth's own story is rooted in that coastal household. Her marriage connected two established Hampton families, and the births place her at the center of a growing Moulton family during the late 1720s and early 1730s.
