Biography

Sarah Dow was born in Hampton, on the New Hampshire coast, on May 23, 1693, a daughter of Simon Dow and Sarah Marston. Her mother died while Sarah was still a small child, and her father married Mehetabel Green in 1700. Sarah married Benjamin Lamprey on February 7, 1711, when she was seventeen. They established their household in the part of Hampton later known as North Hampton.

Their children included Sarah, Hannah, Jane, Mary, Benjamin, Simon, and Elizabeth. The surviving entries stretch from Sarah's birth in 1713 to Elizabeth's baptism in 1733, recording two decades of family life. Simon later married Patience Hobbs, joining this Lamprey household to the Hobbs family at Little River.

Sarah died in 1735.
