The life of Sarah Philbrick Moulton

Biography

Sarah Philbrick was born on November 9, 1732 in the Hampton–Rye community of coastal New Hampshire. Her parents were Joses Philbrick and Abigail Locke. She grew up among several brothers and sisters whose later marriages linked the Philbricks with other families of the seacoast.

Sarah married Robert Moulton, and their married life took them inland to Gilmanton, in central New Hampshire. Both the Hampton and Rye family histories associate Sarah and Robert with that town. Their son Daniel became the Captain Daniel Moulton identified in the family's records.

Sarah outlived Robert, who died in 1817, and died at Gilmanton on August 10, 1823. She was ninety.
