The life of Elizabeth Fiske Russell
Biography
Elizabeth Fiske lived with her husband, John Russell, in Cambridge Farms, the outlying Massachusetts district that became Lexington, northwest of Boston. Their family included David Russell, who eventually settled in Littleton. John's work as a carpenter and housewright was accompanied by repeated dealings in land, and Elizabeth appears by name in several of those transactions.
In 1715 she was identified as John's wife when he conveyed a small Lexington parcel to John Mason. Later abstracts name her in conveyances involving eleven acres in 1721/22 and six acres in 1729. These references make her a continuing participant in the household's legal history over many years.
