Robert Barnard

Robert Barnard held an early English settlement interest on Nantucket as an associate of Thomas Barnard. A Nantucket Historical Association account identifies his wife as Joan Harvey and records his transfer of the interest to their son John in1668. His role belongs to the island’s colonial land history, alongside the continuing presence and rights of its Indigenous inhabitants.
