The life of Mary Faulkner
Biography
Born about 1649
Mary Faulkner married Joseph Marble on May 30, 1671. Their family was associated with Andover (in northeastern Massachusetts), where their son Joseph was born on July 28, 1673. The published family reconstruction also identifies children Jonathan and Mary, distinguishing this household from the later family of Joseph Jr. and Hannah Barnard.
Mary’s family connections brought the Marble household close to the Salem prosecutions. Her husband, identified in the court papers as an Andover mason, joined Francis Faulkner in a January 1692/3 recognizance for Dorothy and Abigail Faulkner.
A contributed family history reports a later deed, dated March 29, 1722, in which Joseph and Mary conveyed land at Sudbury to their son Edmund and Mary relinquished her dower rights. The cited deed names Mary in a family property transfer. Her death date is uncertain.
