Jabez Marble

Jabez Marble served during the American Revolution in an unusual family arrangement. The Ashburnham town history reports that he completed part of his twin brother Oliver’s enlistment at the siege of Boston, answering to Oliver’s name. It also records later service in Rhode Island. His story links military obligation with the practical responsibilities shared within a farming family.
