The life of Sarah Atwood
Biography
Sarah Atwood married James Woodard at Spencer, in central Massachusetts west of Worcester, on November 19, 1789.
Three sons appear in the town’s birth register: Charles in February 1790, Wilber in March 1792 and Tilley in February 1794. Their births trace Sarah’s early married life across four years. They establish three recorded children, not necessarily the complete number she bore.
The family genealogy names Sarah Atwood and James Woodward as the parents of Tilly Woodward, husband of Marinda Wight. The link to the later adult Tilly is probable.
