Biography
Sophia Wing belongs to the Chamberlain family at Dudley, in southern Massachusetts near the Connecticut border, through her marriage to Asahel Chamberlain. The compiled Chamberlain genealogy places her birth on January 7, 1785 and identifies her parents as James Wing and Lydia Allis. These family relationships are probable.
Sophia is identified as the mother of Calvin G. Chamberlain, born in 1809. Asahel died at Dudley in October 1841. The compiled chronology places Sophia’s death on October 31, 1848, seven years after her husband.
