The life of Marie Souhaite
Biography
Marie Souhaite married the carpenter Quentin Hordoville in Montreuil, just east of Paris, France, in 1615. The French-origin compilation identifies her parents as Pierre Souhaite, a master cobbler, and Denise Pépin, and estimates her birth around 1597. Her family thus connects two recorded trades: her father’s shoemaking and her husband’s carpentry.
The same dossier places Marie’s death-or-burial entry on September 18, 1625, shortly after Quentin’s. Their daughter Marie later married Simon Savart in the same Montreuil parish.
