Their story
Nicolas Marsolet worked as an interpreter in Algonquin and Innu languages and as an intermediary in the fur trade. A surviving report from 1647 records his investigation into the injuries of Indigenous men at Sillery. Commercial protests and later trading ventures also appear in the record, placing his work within colonial commerce and administration.
