The life of Thomas LeLaboureur

Text size

Biography

Thomas Le Laboureur and Marguerite Bardin were the parents of Anne Le Laboureur, whose French origins are placed at Caen in Normandy, in northern France. Anne later married Jean Le Normand at Notre-Dame in Québec city, on the St. Lawrence River in present-day Canada, on July 18, 1656.

Her marriage linked the Caen family with a man from the Perche. The parental names preserved in the genealogical accounts keep Thomas's place in that family visible, even though the fuller Canadian record concerns Anne and her husband.
