The life of Abraham Fiset (elder)
Biography
Abraham Fiset married Catherine Labrecque at Saint-Jacques in Dieppe, a port on the English Channel coast of Normandy, France, on February 6, 1633. A daughter named Catherine was baptized that autumn. François-Abraham followed in 1635, and another son, François, in 1637.
The household experienced an early loss when the little Catherine died in November 1636, shortly after her third birthday. Abraham himself was dead before the baptism of a further son, Jean, in October 1639. The reproduced baptismal record identifies Jean's father as deceased.
His son François-Abraham later became a carpenter and migrated to New France, but those events came after his father's death.
