The life of Charles Rognon
Biography
Charles Le Rognon was a surgeon in Paris, France. A 1636 agreement with Geneviève Le Parmentier names his chosen legal domicile in Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois, at premises bearing the sign of the Écu de France. He signed that agreement. By 1666, a further act identifies Geneviève as his wife.
Their son Michel’s marriage record at Québec city, on the St. Lawrence River in present-day Canada, in 1670 describes Charles as deceased. The two records therefore place his death after the 1666 agreement and before the wedding; they do not give its exact date.
