The life of Nicolas Maclin
Biography
Nicolas Maclin is identified as Marguerite Maclin’s father in a published index of her marriage to Jean Chicot at Notre-Dame, Montréal, on October 23, 1662. The index names Suzanne Larose as the bride’s mother and associates that side of the family with Brie, the historic region east of Paris, France. This is the documentary trail linking Nicolas’s French family to Montréal.
Marguerite later married Nicolas Boyer, bringing the Maclin and Boyer families together in the Canadian records.
