Biography

Jean Delabarre was a structural carpenter, described in his daughter's origin dossier as a charpentier de grosses œuvres. His wife was Andrée Bretin, and their daughter Françoise came from Courant, in the historic Saintonge region of western France.

By the time Françoise made a marriage contract at La Rochelle, on France’s Atlantic coast, on April 30, 1645, both parents were dead. Her wedding to Jean Ayrault followed in June.
