The life of Marguerite St-Aubin
Biography
Marguerite St-Aubin was born on May 27, 1688, the daughter of Adrien St-Aubin and Jeanne-Marguerite Bloys, also recorded as Beloy. Her family was associated with Longueuil, across the St. Lawrence from Montréal in present-day Québec, Canada, where she married Louis Jarret dit Beauregard on May 2, 1709, shortly before her twenty-first birthday.
Their children included Michel, Jeanne-Marguerite, Marie-Louise, Louis, Laurent and André. The family included two generations named Louis: Marguerite's husband was born around the late 1680s, while their son Louis was born in 1717. The younger Louis later married Marie-Catherine Olivier.
Marguerite's life ended at Verchères in March 1734, when she was forty-five. Several of the listed children were still young; André, born in 1723, was ten. Louis remarried Élisabeth Legardeur the following year at Contrecoeur.
