The life of Mary Blackwell Eaton Russell
Biography
Mary Eaton was born in Maine in 1826. She married Andrew Russell in 1845, after the death of his first wife.
Mary and Andrew raised a large family. Their children included Elizabeth, Charles Morris, Clara, George Melvin, Gordon Rexford, Herbert Eaton, Ellen, Willis Leander, Elmer Warren, Lila, and Martha Edith; a child named Clayton died young. The Worcester County history places the family’s later years among Townsend, Fitchburg, and Westminster in northern Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, although its timing is approximate.
Mary outlived Andrew by twenty-five years. The death-record abstract gives her death at Leominster, Massachusetts, on May 6, 1912 and her residence as Pearl Street in Fitchburg. She was buried at Evergreen Cemetery two days later.
