The life of Benjamin Lamprey II
Biography
Benjamin Lamprey was born at Hampton, on the New Hampshire coast, on October 9, 1688. He married Sarah Dow on February 7, 1711, beginning a household whose children are associated in the family genealogy with North Hampton, then still part of the larger town of Hampton.
The recorded children include Simon, Sarah, Hannah, Jane, Mary, Benjamin and Elizabeth. The dated births extend from the early 1710s into the 1730s, showing a family formed over roughly two decades. Sarah died in 1735 according to the compiled chronology.
Benjamin's surviving family record is more definite about marriage and children than about his occupation or later years. His son Simon married Patience Hobbs, continuing the family's connections within the Hampton area.
