The life of Charles Douglas “Doug” Joyce

Biography

Doug Joyce married Kathleen Hammond Good in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, in November 1935. The newspaper research places their wedding at the Unitarian Church in Wakefield Street and gives his names as Douglas Charles Joyce, reversing the order used in the family's later record. The report appeared on Monday, November 11, describing a Saturday wedding; November 9 is the resulting date.

Their daughters included Kaye and Cherie. Family testimony places Doug and Kath among early participants in Scientology in Australia. The current evidence supports that family connection but does not establish a particular organizational office or a detailed account of Doug's work.

Family chronology places his birth around 1910 and death in 1997.

The family’s account also places the Joyce household in Victoria.
