Life in context.
38. Jude Bourassa (1814–c. 1857/58)
Jude attended mission schools and institutions including the Choctaw Academy, studying subjects useful for commerce and public affairs. He contested land/removal issues in court, married Marie Catherine Charet in 1833, and moved west in 1840. In Kansas he operated a government-assisted grist mill and boarding house near Mill Creek. He signed the 1846 treaty and died during the smallpox era of the late 1850s.
Evidence status. Favored direct ancestor supported by CPN family history; supersedes the older Leon/Mnetoqua route unless stronger records emerge.
