01BIOGRAPHY
Life in context.
29. Stanton Doane Wicks (1892–1937)
Stanton attended Connecticut State Agricultural College and became a well-known Pomfret farmer and stock raiser, keeping registered Percheron horses and Berkshire hogs. Contemporary newspaper material says he was “mustered out of United States service” after World War I, while the Doane family genealogy says all three Wicks brothers served. His exact branch, rank and unit have not yet been recovered.
Evidence status. Collateral relative; service is established, rank and unit remain open.
