69. Canon Antoine Hecquet (1659–1718)
French bibliographic records identify Antoine Hecquet as a canon who became dean of Saint-Wulfran in 1698 and held the office until his death in 1718. A scholarly article specifically studies his correspondence, catechetical work and Hebrew learning. He is another reminder that Madison’s Abbeville Hecquet family produced notable clergy and scholars outside the direct line.
