26. Hugh Albert Walker (1875–c. 1956/57)
Born at Avondale, Nova Scotia, Hugh Albert came to the United States as a teenager in December 1890. Family archival material traces him through Drake, Payson & Whittier and Crooker Electric before he founded Walker Electric. It also records leadership in the Rhode Island electrical trade and membership in civic organizations. His story is a classic migration-to-industry narrative at the dawn of electrification.
